Since we launched our free ticket schemes in 2008 we are proud to have given over 10,000 people the opportunity to attend opera for free. As in previous years, we are delighted to offer 300 free tickets across our 2018 Season to those over the age of 65. We encourage our audiences to apply as part of an organised community group, such as a day centre, retirement café, older persons’ forum or through a charity such as Age UK or Contact the Elderly.
Injecting the arts into the heart of a community and being able to enjoy live performance can make a significant positive change to overall health and well-being. An evening of high-quality opera in the beautiful setting of Holland Park has the ability to give pleasure to older audiences giving access to a meaningful activity they can attend with friends and family helping to overcome isolation and broaden horizons.
Everyone, regardless of means, age or ability, is encouraged to attend an opera or one of the associated events taking place before the season or at the theatre.
