Following the success of last year’s appeal, this Tuesday 28 November, Opera Holland Park is once again joining with hundreds of charities across the UK to celebrate #GivingTuesday.

The first Tuesday after #BlackFriday and #CyberMonday, Giving Tuesday is a day designed to celebrate charitable giving on a global scale. This year as part of #GivingTuesday we will be raising money for our outreach and education project Inspire.

The Inspire project began to help bring opera and the performing arts to people of all ages who may not usually be able to experience it, welcoming people from all backgrounds into the OHP community. The team get involved with multiple projects throughout the year; providing workshops for school children and young people, a relaxed performance for children with autism, audio described performances for those with hearing problems, workshops to welcome unaccompanied refugees to the UK, Playlist for Life and Playlist Live performances for the elderly and those suffering with dementia and for the first time in 2018 a Schools Matinee. The project also funds our accessible ticket schemes, offering free tickets to young people and older audiences as well as supporting our £20 Inspire tickets and NHS staff ticket offers.

Inspire relies solely on generous donations made by our individual donors and support from Trusts and Foundations. As such we are encouraging you to join us this #GivingTuesday to help achieve our mission to make opera accessible, affordable and enjoyable for all.

Every donation, from £1 to £100 makes a huge difference to each project Inspire offers and helps us reach more people each year.
