On Tuesday 29 November 2016, Opera Holland Park is participating in #GivingTuesday, a day dedicated to charitable giving. A response to the American tradition of Black Friday, #GivingTuesday has inspired giving around the globe. This year as part of #GivingTuesday we will be raising money for our outreach and education project Inspire.
Since the Inspire project was founded in 2008, it has touched the lives of thousands of people, young and old. The team work extensively with day care centres, care homes, hospitals, schools and youth groups across London to bring opera to those who would usually be unable to attend due to physical, financial or social limitations.
Central to Opera Holland Park’s ethos is increasing accessibility. Alongside our outreach work, Inspire offers 1,000 free tickets for under 18s, 500 free tickets for the over 60s and 2,000 subsidised Inspire tickets at £18.
Inspire receives no Arts Council funding, so relies solely on the support of generous donations. We encourage you to join the #GivingTuesday movement and help achieve our mission to make opera accessible, affordable and enjoyable for all.
You may choose to make your donation today or on #GivingTuesday itself. Every pound you donate makes a difference to the thousands of people Inspire reaches every year.
